Samuel Cobb

Sam is the manager at Real Wood Floors overseeing both production and sales of our engineered flooring product. His primary tasks are product development, sales management and coordinating production at each of the facilities in which we produce flooring.

Since the beginning.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy fishing, hunting, camping and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

What are your favorite TV shows?

Currently enjoying Modern Family but am also a sucker for Dual Survival, Pawn Stars and Man vs. Food.

What is your favorite food?

Pizza. I enjoy all types, Chicago, New York, St. Louis whatever.

What is your favorite band/musician?

I enjoy James Taylor, The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons... too hard to name a favorite.

When we started the project in China installing floors in the orphanage I knew that if I ever took my wife Rachel over with me that she would fall in love with one of the children and we'd soon be adopting. This is exactly what happened and we both look forward with great anticipation to invite our new daughter into the family in the next few months. Our sons Reed (3) and Brooks (2) are also looking forward to welcoming Jane (1) into our family in the coming weeks.

Shane Cobban

Shane Cobban handles the accounting duties for Real Wood Floors. As in any manufacturing company he spends his days making sure the books follow what is actually happening in the factory. Lot and serial numbers take up a big portion of his day.

How long have you been working for the company?

3.543 years (I'm an accountant)

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy hunting, fishing, basketball, and softball. I also enjoy reading and playing with my kids.

What are your favorite TV shows?

LOST

What is your favorite food?

T-bone steak with a baked sweet potato.

What is your favorite band/musician?

I enjoy several genres of music, so I don’t have a favorite band/musician. Nate and Corey supply an endless playlist in the office so I'm usually listening to whatever they have playing.

I moved our family to China and spent 2 years teaching English to junior and senior high school students. We also took our family on the last Real Wood Floors project where we installed flooring in an orphanage in Tianjin, China. Shane is married to Michelle and has 3 children Katie, Kelly and DJ.

Nate Elbrecht

Nate works in sales both in the office and on the road. Most of his time is spent in customer service and order processing. He also provides a lot of hot chili peppers for office consumption from his chili garden.

I took a gap year to backpack around the world taking bus, boat train and plane over 12 months and traversing 38 countries.

Ben Chang

Ben is our Quality Control Manager and spends time traveling back and forth between China, Mexico and the US. He is in charge of training local staff at each facility and is also involved in product development and innovation.

Reading, playing basketball, rock climbing.

24 and Lost.

Barbecue ribs, and ofcourse Chinese.

On my first trip to the US we were out visiting flooring contractors on jobsite's so I could get a better idea of how the product is installed in a real setting. We were in suburban Oklahoma City and while on site the contractor asked me if there was anything I wanted to do while in the US. Being from China, I had never had a chance to shoot a firearm so I told him I'd like to shoot a gun. He responded with "we can do that right now". He proceeded to pull an AR-15 and a Judge out of his truck and we went to the back of the construction project and I was able to unload a double drum magazine and a few 410 shells in the judge as well. After I was done, our customer said "welcome to America". It was a great memory. When in the US I enjoy fishing. While buying my Arkansas fishing license at Walmart the clerk was having difficulty finding China in the computer system so I ended up with a fishing license that says I'm from Beijing, Arkansas. Prior to joining RWF I did some work as a tour guide. As a result I have taken groups to the Great Wall over 300 times. I can give the history of it in my sleep.

Corey Jeter

Corey is our Chief Logistics Officer at Real Wood Floors. His task is to make sure lumber gets from the mill to one of a number of factories we produce flooring in. He is tasked with making sure the lumber gets packed correctly, the documents filed correctly and then ensures it gets picked up in a timely fashion to avoid any delays and additional expenses. In his spare time he also tackles our inventory control.

How long have you been working for the company?

4.5 years

What are your hobbies?

I like to play guitar and play with my daughters. I work on a lot of projects around the house and usually just spend time with my family. Some video games are played too.

What are your favorite TV shows?

I'm a lifetime Seinfeld fan but right now I like Community a lot.

What is your favorite food?

Authentic Italian food. (Or even unauthentic.)

What is your favorite band/musician?

I should say the Beatles and Johnny Cash but I'll have to go with Chicago and Rich Mullins. I'm currently enjoying The Swell Season and Sandra McKracken as well.

Soon after starting work in the flooring industry I caught the flu on the way to the NWFA Convention. I threw up on the plane, nearly on the person seated next to me, had a fever that night and lost my voice for the rest of the show. I was useless all week.

Doyle Richardson

Doyle is our warehouse manager in the Missouri location. His primary tasks include order pulling and shipment and warehouse organization.

How long have you been working for the company?

1.5 years

What are your hobbies?

Hunting, fishing, sports and driving fast.

What are your favorite TV shows?

Dr. Who, The Dresdin Files and anything on the History Channel .

What is your favorite food?

Anything deep fried in bacon grease!

At a previous job, I was driving a company van back to the shop after a service call. I happened to be smoking a cigarette at the time (which was against company policy by the way) and when I finished I flicked the butt out the window. A short while later my co-worker audibly sniffed the air and declared "Something's on fire". Long story short, I ended up with the hopeless task of trying to explain to the boss why I had to go home and change my pants due to the large hole that I had burnt into them with the cigarette that I wasn't supposed to be smoking which didn't quite make it out the window. My co-worker didn't make it any easier as he was laughing hard in the background.

Mark Long

Mark works in outside sales for Real Wood Floors. He is based out of Olive Branch, MS and spends a lot of time visiting distributors throughout the US helping them to promote our products. He is also our resident adhesive expert and gives leadership to our adhesive program in both product development and marketing as well as sales. Having worked for many years on the retail and installation side of the industry he also provides a wealth of information in the area of technical guidance.

How long have you been working for the company?

1 year and loving it.

What are your hobbies?

I love spending time with my boys, hunting, fishing, and watching ballgames.

What are your favorite TV shows?

Pawn Stars when not watching Cardinal baseball.

What is your favorite food?

BBQ Nachos from the Commissary.

Third Day and Chris August.

Well when I first started dating my wife, Jill, I took her to my hometown church. Being a small country church it was packed with friends and family. I was asked during the service to stand up and introduce her to everyone. My nerves must have gotten to me as I forgot her last name. The good thing now, it's the same as mine.
